Honest Talk

A New Perspective on Talking to Your Kids About Sex

John Fort, Director of Training for Be Broken Ministries
Presents: Honest Talk: A New Perspective on Talking to Your Kids About Sex

In this Honest Talk seminar we will look at the obstacles that can get in the way of talking to our kids about sex and how we can overcome them. Reviewing parent and teen surveys from 2019 we look at common fears of both parents and kids related to talking about sex and demonstrate how to get around each.

We then discuss:

  • How to explain God's design for sex at different ages
  • The importance of developing emotional resilience in children to help them resist sexual temptations
  • How to have cleansing conversations that help kids work through all the sexual misinformation they are exposed to

Time: September 14, 10:00am-11:00am

Note: child care is not provided

Cost: Free event

SEMINARS or conferences are lead by experts, as with counseling or an intensive, but there is typically far less interaction between those who attend. A seminar is only community if we work to make it that. Try to attend with a couple of friends. Share about what you are learning. Meet someone new at the event. These are times of learning, to hear a new voice. We recommend trying to attend one every year or two, as a goal.

Seminars listed here specifically address healing and recovery from the affects of negative sexual behaviors.
